Gunnison Women's March Saturday

Sponsors of the march are inviting all Gunnison Valley community members to stand with Women on October 2, 2021 in Gunnison, Colorado.
This local march is an extension of the national Women's March organization and corresponding mission. Women across the US are peacefully demonstrating on Saturday, October 2nd ahead of the Supreme Court reconvening on Monday, October 4th. This peaceful demonstration is a March in support of women's reproductive rights, ending violence against women, civil rights, immigrant rights, and disability rights, among many other concerns. Mission: The mission of Women’s March is to harness the political power of diverse women and their communities to create transformative social change. Women’s March is a women-led movement providing intersectional education on a diverse range of issues and creating entry points for new grassroots activists & organizers to engage in their local communities through trainings, outreach programs and events. Women’s March is committed to dismantling systems of oppression through nonviolent resistance and building inclusive structures guided by self-determination, dignity and respect.
Local organization Project HOPE will be in attendance on Saturday, as well as a number of other local female leaders speaking! Participants should arrive between 10:30 and 11 am. Marching will start between 11 and 11:15 am from Jorgensen Park towards Highway 135 and then north on Main to Denver. Marchers will turn around at Denver and return to the park for speakers, a letter-writing table, and other community resource tables.
Sponsors want to issue a special invitation to men as well as women who would like to come out to support women and women's rights!
