About this event
LWVGV's Dr. Jody Coleman is joining Professors Drs. Maria Struble and Thanasis Kinias for a discussion on Suffrage around the world. The professors and Jody will give brief histories of suffrage movements in Europe, the US and South America.
Then small group talk will occur regarding the students' ancestors and where they might have been during WWI (1914, when most of the suffrage movements began). Large group discussion will occur regarding social issues that are important to students and ways to engage in civic responsibility.
Come share your stories of your parents' involvement with voting rights and other social issues, as you engage in small group talk with the college students. Or just come to hear the dynamic discussions This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with young college students.
